Hello band ;DTomorrow's band practice , 31 August 2009 , is cancelled due to Teacher's Day .
On Friday sectionals , the attendance was very poor and many of you did not put in much effort in learning the jump style . SYF is just 7 months away , don't you all feel the urgency ? We need to work very very hard , and put in a lot a lot of effort to get a Gold , or maybe Gold w/ Honours . Have a good rest in this coming Teacher's Day holiday .

Hello WSband! :DI am so glad to hear that there are 53% distinction for O level Chinese!! well, but i am even happier that a lot of the Secondary 4 (stepped down) band members did well for O level tooo! :D i am super proud of each and everyone of you!
rmb not to be complacent! continue to work hard for O levels, i am sure you guys can own wsss!! THE BAND CAN OWN THE SCHOOL WITH ATTITUDE,DISCIPLINE AND ACADEMIC RESULTS!
Dont forget these 3 things which my batch of seniors had been emphasizing on! or rather, me -.-" although we yearn to be the best CCA in school, attitude and results count a lot as well!!! we yearn to nurture all-rounded band members!

i'd asked yewei if he can go down to give you guys some consultation before your o level papers on the 26th oct and i think he should be able to make it. we are only good in math and science (: so yeah, if u guys need any help, keep us update! we should be free after our exams too :D

With Pride We Strike!
Band Practice on 17th August 2009, Monday Fall In : 2.45PM
Attire : PE
I seriously don't understand what's with all of you.
Do you think you're so good that you can come for band practices whenever you like?
Even if you ARE that good, it doesn't give you a free pass from band practices.
Every practice, we're learning new skills and improving so that we'll be ready for competition.
But all of you aren't eager to learn.
How do you think we're going to improve like that?
We're a band. We need to constantly move forward together.
If one person stays at the same spot, we'll never be able to proceed.
That's not that bad actually compared to your attitudes now,
cause presently, the issue is only one person moving forward while the rest of you are staying at the same spot.
We will never ever be able to improve like that.
The instructors are giving their best shot, the leaders are trying their best too.
Please, we need to move on. NOT go back to square one.
Spare a thought for us.
For the instructors, for the leaders, for the whole band.
It's difficult being us, okay.
The least you guys can do is come for band practices, pay attention and learn new skills to help the band.
I know it's the CT period, but still, come for band practices.
Study hard, take care.

Videos of very good Malaysia Marching Band.Look at the way their:
- marching (it's heel,toe,heel toe)
- the way they hold their instruments
- how vibrant and alive their formations are!
- at least the music isnt as mute as us -.-"
- their posture.
- their accuracy in marching towards their position.
this is more of DCI marching style (which is quite different from us). They have less sharp turnings compared to us. Nevertheless, there are A LOT OF learning points which we can learn from!!
Get charge up and start working hard for wsband!

Evening band.
I hope you guys've started studying for your exams. Well, all the best to you ppl;] hahaha
Also, I want to convey a message to you guys.
I know, sometimes you guys feel tired and not motivated to come for band, but really you're causing big problems for the leaders. They're trying super hard to motivate you guys. They put their heart in everything they do.
You as a member, at least help your leaders just by coming for band. Not only coming for band for no reasons. But coming for band because you want to learn something,be motivated and work hard for the medal.
As you guys know, our goal for next year is like high. Therefore our standard has to be high. And during the tough trainings, we faced challenges. Challenges are like boundaries that prevents us from succeeding. However, we have to overcome the challenges, put aside all our emotions and together face the challenges with dignity and pride. I'm sure if we can face all challenges, slowly, we'll get what we worked hard for.
Study hard and rest well.see you guys tmr at school.

They're pretty good.
Do take a minute or so to reflect on yourself.
Do you think with your attitude towards band now we'll be as good as them in 8 months or so?

With Pride We Strike!
Hello people. You know what? I'm quite disappointed with all of you.
Okay, not just me, but also the instructors and seniors.
And maybe not all of you, but the majority of you.
During band practices, you're supposed to pay full attention and respond to the instructors.
During sectionals, practise hard. If there's anything you're unsure of and need help about, approach your SLs.
Sectionals is the best time for you to clear your doubts about band.
When your SL or seniors point out your mistakes, make sure you learn from them and don't make the same mistakes again.
Whatever the instructors taught you, whether is it the music or marching,
please make sure you remember each and every single detail down.
We're like just building our basics up now.
The most important thing to remind yourself now is the 100% input!
You must have heard this like over a hundred times already.
But we still have to repeat it again and again cause no one seems to be doing it!
We're seriously running out of time.
People, WAKE UP~
We're aiming really high for band competition.
And we don't succeed just by setting high goals.
Set a goal, work hard towards it, earn it for yourself and for the band.
That is the only way we can hit our target.
Work hard, everyone.
We really hope to see improvements next band practice.
For this long weekend, please remember to practise your songs.
Most importantly, take care and enjoy your weekend :D
