Oh hello band members ! ,
Past three band practices .
We improved ~ ( music and marching ) ;D ,
Proud of it people ,
There's like less than 7 months(?) to band competition .
So , We shall work harder alrights ?
Work as one .
& when you are asked to carry one chair each ,
you carry your own chair down ,
can you all please help to arrange ?
Dont just sit there waiting others to do everything for you ok ?
Be initiative ok . :D
enough of aunty nagging .
Think about it people ,
Mr Lim is going to give up the band soon ,
We are the ones who made him stay so ,
prove to him that we are willing to work hard and improve ok ;D
Think about the Gold medal ~ ,
Our goal .

With Pride We Strike!
Band members ,
don't you all feel that you all are letting Mr Lim down ? He has done so many things for the band , bring West Spring Military Band to what it is now . And now , there is internal conflict in the band . Do you know that Mr Lim is very sad , he treat all the band members like his own kids . If you all continue like this , he would definitely give up on this band , is this what you want ? Then this would be the batch that lose a very good instructor .
How many CCA will have such a instructor like Mr Lim who give everything he have to help this band . He is not those instructor who come to teach for the sake of getting the pay and just do what he need to do , and don't give a damn anymore . How many teacher would go to this extent to help the band , a instructor who came during band comp period to scold , to teach the band , just because that he loves the band , he came even though he have a high fever . Come on , treasure him as a instructor . If you don't , you would surely lose a good instructor .
Sec 1s , you might know or not how a band comp is like , but I believe , with a instructor like Mr Lim , you all will move far , learnt alot of stuffs . Mr Lim always tell us how a band is like , " We are one band , not two , not three , not ten . We go through rain , sweat and pain together as one . " Now what , you are all anti-ing here and there . The only way to improve now , is to think , and work as one , move on as one , as a band . So , stop all these anti-ing here and there . We are so fortunate , to have section tutors teaching us and overseas trip to improve . If you don't know , in the past West Spring Military Band history , there have not been any tutors and overseas trip . Mr Lim is now pushing this all for the band , if you realise , he is just a normal band instructor . He can just leave at 5 every practice , and stop thinking and worrying for this band , concentrating on his studies . But why must he do all these , its because he loves the band .
At the beginning when he start taking over the band , he have difficulties winning sec3s and sec4s heart at that time . He then went extra miles doing things for the band , to win those band members heart , to work well together as one . He went cleaning the band rooms . During the holidays , he would go back to school , clearing all the rubbish that was left in that semester together with the excos .
When I first join the school , he was my mp4 pocket trumpet , instructor . He psycho me , Lixia , and some my classmates in the mp4 class to join band . I was reluctant at first , thinking it would be tough , to march under the hot sun . Up till now , I don't regret my decision of joinning band , I've learnt alot under Mr Lim . What is SYF about , where you will cry your hearts out failing to get the medal you want . If you all don't know , Mr Lim didn't want to go on the competion day itself as he felt that he is not a good instructor . He was very down , just one practice before the competition . He told the A-Team , the dancers everything the band and dancers went through together . They were all sobbing away already , Mr Lim nearly cried in front of them . After the performance , the band gathered around Mr Lim , he said that he is very proud of the band , no matter what the result will be , because he said that it is the process that we go through as a band is more important . After the result is announced , upon hearing the result , almost the whole band started sobbing away already . It's because that we did not get the gold medal . Alot of us went to apologise to him , he would always say : " You have done your best . " Everyone went back with solemn feeling . We got a debrief in school . All of us the eyes were swollen . This is a important and nice process that we went through with Mr Lim . I can see that alot of the alumni and seniors respect him alot , for what he have done for WSMB and making the best batch of band for westspring .
If you all continue like this , Mr Lim will be very disappointted . This is my heartfelt feeling for Mr Lim and the band , I hope you all can understand and stop all these nonsense . Work as one , for the band, and Mr Lim . Come on , the competition is just 7months 4days away . Band , wake up ! Do it for West Spring Military Band , and Mr Lim . Get a Gold medal in the 2010 SYF , create a history for West Spring Military Band !
